Hello, my name is Sharon Purifoye. It is important to me that I share with you, what brought me to this point in my life. First, I must start off by saying, "Thank you" for visiting my site! I, myself have been relocated 6 times since 2001. I started in the moving and relocation industry in 1991. I began my career as a receptionist at a major Van Lines. After approximately 5-6 months, the top Salesperson approached me and said, “You’re wasting your time and talent at this counter being a receptionist.” I didn’t agree with him because a receptionist is the first impression of a company. Very fast forward: Eventually, a position opened for a Sales Coordinator, so I applied and got the position! People that called in enjoyed talking with me, and that moved me beyond answering the phone and routing calls to scheduling and routing my salespeople. I quickly moved on to also quoting and scheduling moves. At first, I had absolutely no idea just how involved moving a person or family from one place to another and it was quite intimidating, but I learned quickly!
As I moved to different roles within the industry, which included working for major van lines like Mayflower Van Lines, United Van Lines, Arpin Van Lines, and Allied Van Lines, I attended classes, conferences, showcases and summits, learning and absorbing as much information that I could about the industry. These experiences and my acumen for relocation details helped me to quickly advance in the industry. I have been a Move Coordination, Sales Coordinator, Sales Manager, Operations Director, Vendor Manager, Director of Customer Service and eventually became a General Manager at two different major van lines, and I loved every minute of it …. even the most stressful parts. Every day was different and posed a different challenge. These challenges are what drives me.
I started working at Relocation companies as a Relocation Manager, and eventually as a Director of Operations. In these roles, I managed a team of Relocation Managers who were Real Estate Agents previously, Relocation Associates and Inventory Specialists. I remained in constant contact with large companies and managed the relocation of Executives and other Employees for some of the largest companies in the world.
Fast forward: An opportunity was presented to me that included helping people in very stressful situations, so I left the Moving and Relocation industry for about three years, but found myself back in the moving and relocation industry again. At this time, I decided to go out into the Field to talk face to face with prospective customers and clients to manage their relocation. My primary goal was to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding about the most stressful and frustration aspects of their move. It is different when I am able to personally see a person's stress and confusion. The conversations and patterns were almost the exact same, some more than others; finding a realtor, preparing their home to sell, finding a mover, finding a realtor at destination for their new home, all while scheduling and coordinating all the things in between, at destination and a plethora of other things.
I own a top-notch company and am an expert at assisting people during this challenging time. I love helping people with one of the most stressful times in their lives because I’ve been there, so I know the feeling. Think of me as your Personal Assistant and allow my unique expertise to relieve your stress and benefit you!
